Ma vie rouge Kubrick
Based on the novel by Simon Roy
Next representation
Blending literature, theatre, film, photography, and movement, Ma vie rouge Kubrick is a multidisciplinary performance that moves, dazzles, and transports its audience.
Drawing its inspiration from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, Simon Roy’s novel is a powerful work of autofiction. Through a story as surprising as it is moving, the author reminds us that a literary, cinematic, or theatrical work has the power to change the course of our lives — sometimes even shedding light on traumas buried deep within our subconscious.
Premiering at the Festival international de la littérature in fall 2023 as a staged reading, and later presented at Théâtre de la Ville during the Fenêtres event, the project now takes on a brand-new form that highlights the theatrical essence of Simon Roy’s novel. Initially presented as a monologue performed by actor Maxim Gaudette, the piece has evolved into a fully realized theatrical work featuring Nico Racicot and Marc-Antoine Sinibaldi. Together, they share the text in a strange and captivating mirror game.
